Deirdre has been working with companion animals professionally for over 10 years, but has been caring for her own and others' pets for over 30 years. Deirdre's pet care career was inspired by her love of animals, but further motivated by her own difficulty in finding quality pet care when she went out of town. Deirdre works full-time at a local animal shelter as a trainer & adoption counsellor so she sees first-hand the need for quality pet care options as well as help with behaviour challenges.
Having been owned by cats since the day she was born, she has seen her share of special kitty behaviour, both wanted and unwanted. Deirdre took a particular interest in feline behaviour after she adopted Neo, a fearful Seal Point Siamese kitten, in 2004. Since then, she has seen and worked on numerous behaviour challenges: inter-cat aggression, litterbox avoidance, spraying, PICA, cat-cat introductions, dog-cat introductions... the list goes on and on.
While continuing education options are limited, Deirdre strives to stay up to date on all things cat behaviour through feline-specific seminars & webinars:
Whether you're looking to modify problem behaviour or need someone to be there for your cat when you're away, Deirdre and her team are here for you.
